Millions Can Still Be Made When You Are Long Gone!
Saturday, March 14, 2009Just make sure that you are in the right biz. The former Rock 'n" Roll king, Elvis Presley really added the weight to the phrase "there's no biz like show biz!"
Even though he has been dead for 30 years, he still able to earn a whopping $52 million in the past year with swelling ticket and merchandise sales at Graceland, licensing deals and satellite radio show. That is more than what the living Madonna or Justin Timberlake makes in last year.
A cartoonist by the name of Charles M. Schulz came in second place in the Forbes list. With a deal crafted between the Peanuts comic strip and Warner Bros Studios resulting in a series of new Peanuts DVD content and the release of the movie You're Not Elected, Charlie Brown, Schulz has a taking of $33 million to his "home".
Have you watched Heath Ledger as the Joker in the Dark Knight movie? Working out a deal that include merchandising and profit sharing of the box office film revenue plus upfront payment that he received in the unfinished film The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Ledger got $20 million for the past year efforts.
If you aren't someone who has a flair of showmanship, money can still roll in long after you are gone provided that you are smart and creative. Well, that's exactly what happened to Albert Einstein. I guess he would never thought of making lots of money from making babies smart when he is alive with Baby Einstein, a Disney owned suite of learning tools for babies.
The top ten dead celebrities list:
1. Elvis Presley ($52 million)
2. Charles M. Schulz ($33 million)
3. Heath Ledger ($20 million)
4. Albert Einstein ($18 million)
5. Aaron Spelling ($15 million)
6. Dr. Seuss ($12 million)
7. John Lennon ($9 million)
8. Andy Warhol ($9 million)
9. Marilyn Monroe ($6.5 million)

Now, who say we have to be alive and well to earn money?
