Mandatory Ski Helmets In Quebec?

45 years old Natasha Richardson suffered a fatal head injury after she fell while practicing for a skiing lesson at a Quebec ski resort. Had she worn a helmet at that time, she might be still alive today.

Therefore, it comes as a no-surprise that doctors in Quebec are renewing their calls for mandatory helmets and snowboarders after the death of Miss Richardson.

However, the Quebec Ski Hills Association argues that helmet use should be optional as they are concerned that people might be put off indulging in the sports by making it so "complicated" to enjoy the sport. And they prefer to leave the option of wearing a helmet to the skiers.

Yah, I am glad that the Quebec Ski Hills Association is not in charge with the driving and traffic regulation. They might think that it is too "complicated" to strap on a seat belt while one is in a car and decide to leave that to the car drivers and passengers to put on one's seat belt. By then, I think we would have lots of fatal crash car accidents.
