Guess who can turn $15 million to $200 million in this time of slump. Well, it is none other than David Boyle, the director for the Slumdog Millionaire who can perform such a a feat within a time span of a few months.

As at now, the 8 Oscar awards winner movie has surpassed the $210 million mark from theaters around the world. Not bad for a movie that trailed behind the Madea Goes to Jail and Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience movies two weeks ago.

In comparison, past best picture winners No Country For Old Men only grossed $162 million worldwide and the 2006 The Departed had a taking of $290 million.

What makes the movie so popular and able to garner such a earning? Well, it must be the endless publicity that we got from the film in the Golden Globe Awards, Academy Awards, and international involvement of the film where its composer, AR Rahman is from India while David Boyle himself are British!

On a final note, Fox Searchlight co-COO, Steve Gilula predicted that the movie will be able to garner at least $250 million. Let's wait and see whether his perdiction can come TRUE!
